Sweet Success: Zoo Bribes Chimps with Concession Stand Treats

On Thursday, eight chimpanzees escaped from their normal living quarters into the secure service area within their enclosure. Sharon Redrobe, the zoo’s director, told TIME that during their usual morning move from their day space to their breakfast area, a door was left ajar, and they swiftly took the opportunity to go on a devious adventure. In the service area, the chimps seemed to have a blast as they ran around and peeked inside cupboards. The zoo’s public update, however, ensured that “at no time were the public at risk, and no people or chimps were harmed during the incident” because the chimps were still contained within…

First Sight

What is your happiest memory? Describe it in rich detail — the setting, the sights, the sounds, the smells.

My happiest memory is the day I met the love of my life. A cold, hazy, winter afternoon I was sitting in my gold 4 door car with the windows so fogged I could not see a thing in front of me. To the left of me was my little sister so young and innocent looking up at me with her big blue eyes with not a care in the world. The smell of my old car was like a piece of pine with a hint of cherry. The heater on my car was loud and make a humming sound that could get so into your ear that it just disappeared eventually. Looking through my window in that tiny hole that had defrosted just enough I seen what was the most amazing thing in my life. I felt the chills run down my spine the butterflies fluttering about inside my stomach, I had never felt this feeling before so I questioned could this be the man of my dreams, the love of my life? As he approached, the my gold, rustic car and tapped on my window I began to frantically roll the window down. My heartbeat in my throat, the sound of my window creaked as if it were an old wooden door, then he spoke. . . stating his name so profoundly as if he were a man of honor. I stated back to him my name with a quiver in my lip so anxious to hear what he had to say next. He told me I was the most beautiful thing that his eyes have ever seen. I hung to his every word, his every breath, and with a deep breath of air he ask “May I please have your number?” My expression on my face was eager and I responded with a charming “yes you may.” My little sister gazing out the window not knowing what was happening just giggled and turned away. From that day on I haven’t ever doubted the bond we have with each other. There is no one in this world that could take his spot in my heart. Our love in unconditional, natural, unbreakable, and trustworthy.
